Open Microsoft Outlook.

• Choose "Tools".
• Choose "Account Settings...".

A popup window appears, titled "Account Settings", with a series of tabs available.

• Make sure the "E-mail" tab is selected.
• Click the "New.." button below the E-mail tab.

The window titled "Add New E-mail Account" with the heading "Auto Account Setup" appears with a number of choices.

At this point you have a choice. You can enter the information or choose "Manually configure server settings or additional server types".

If you choose the first option, fill out the information and click the next button. The test will fail and select the option to run the configuration a second time with an unsecured setting. After the second test has ran, your email account is setup and ready to go.

• Check the box "Manually configure server settings or additional server types".
• Click the "Next >" button at the bottom of the window.

The window titled "Add New E-mail Account" with the heading "Choose E-mail Service" appears.

• Choose "Internet E-mail".
• Click the "Next >" button at the bottom of the window.

The window titled "Add New E-mail Account" with the heading "Internet E-mail Settings" appears.

This window allows a user the ability of adding their name, email adress, account type, incoming mail server, outgoing mail server, user name and password.

• Type your name into the "Your Name" area.
  • You can put what ever name into this field. This field does not have to be your specific name. It can be what ever you want. If this is for a general business email account, just fill in your businesses name. Example: Split One Technologies. This field can be any character, number of characters or combination of characters.
• Type your email address (ALL LOWER CASE) into the E-mail Address area.
• Choose "POP3" for your "Account Type".
• Enter your Incoming Mail Server value.
  • Look at your email address. Remove everything up to and including the "@" symbol. Type the characters "mail." (do not forget the dot ".").
  • If your email that you typed in previously is: example@splitone.com, your incoming mail server will be mail.splitone.com. If your email address is example@supremeagent.com, your incoming mail server will be mail.supremeagent.com.
• Enter your Outgoing Mail Server (Same as Incoming Mail Server).
• User Name is your full, LOWER CASE email address.
• Enter your password.
• Click the "Test Account Settings..." button (located to the right of the window).
  • If this fails, click the "More Settings..." button in the lower right of the window.

The "More Settings..." button opens a second popup window with a series of tabs across the top.

• Choose the "Advanced" tab.
• Change "Outgoing server (SMTP)" from 25 to 89.
• Click "OK" button at bottom of the window.

Congratulations. You have successfully configured Microsoft Outlook and your email account.
